Mark Fermanich, Ph.D., is a subject matter expert assisting Region Five Comprehensive Center’s (R5CC) work with the West Virginia Teacher Residency Model. He has helped develop resources on sustainable financing, selecting cooperating teachers and effectively matching them with teacher residents, recruiting residency candidates, and using data to monitor K-12 teacher workforce needs. His work on educator workforce issues, education finance, and policy includes alternative teacher compensation plans, educator turnover, effective professional development, strategic budgeting, and return on investment of educational investments. In his free time, Mark enjoys road cycling, kayaking, and backpacking. Mark is based in Sister Bay, Wisconsin.
