About Rose Honey

Rose Honey, Ed.D., is an educator with experience working in both formal and informal education settings at the Tribal, state, and federal levels. She lives in Missoula, Montana and works in the region with rural and American Indian populations. Rose has a STEM background and received her bachelor’s in physics, taught science and math in a rural school in Zimbabwe, and assisted research in both physics and brain imaging labs. She went on to earn her master’s and doctorate in education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In the interim, she worked as a formative researcher for a variety of children’s television programs, including Sesame Street and Dora the Explorer. Her doctoral research focused on culturally relevant science education with Bitterroot Salish middle school students. Rose works with the R5CC team to support the Tennessee Department of Education and is currently exploring Tennessee teacher vacancies through focus groups with Tennessee educators.
