Resource: Topical Brief: State Approaches to Parent/Family Engagement

When it comes to student’s education, family engagement can improve attendance and enhance outcomes. The Region 5 Comprehensive Center carried out a 50-state scan to examine state parent/family engagement approaches—efforts such as two-way communication, information transparency, and family feedback. This report highlights examples of state approaches, federal efforts, and a summary of parental engagement initiatives in the Region 5 states: Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
