'We need our teachers:' schools praise pay raises for Virginia teachers

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WSET) — Schools in Central Virginia and across the state are set to get a big chunk of money from the two-year state budget, which the Virginia General Assembly approved Wednesday.  

It's been a tough couple of years for students and teachers following the COVID-19 pandemic, so school leaders said it means a lot that lawmakers are supporting them and working to get what they say is well-deserved funding.
